Last updated July 25, 2026
This policy explains what information we collect through highlandhomecareks.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers our website only.
01Who we are
Highland Home Care KS LLC provides home care services to families in Overland Park, Johnson County and the greater Kansas City area. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.
02Website privacy and health information
This policy covers our website, not your medical record. Health information created or received in the course of providing care is handled separately under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which we provide to clients when care begins. Request a copy any time by calling (913) 287-0333.
Please do not send detailed medical information through the website contact form. It is not a secure channel. Call us instead.
03Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form. Your name, email address, subject and message.
- Job applications. Your name, email address, phone number, the position you are applying for, availability, the area you can work, your resume if you attach one, and anything you choose to add.
- Consultation requests. Details you provide when booking, which may include information about the person who needs care.
- Staff portal. Account credentials and the information associated with your employment record.
Information collected automatically
- IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page and pages viewed.
- Dates and times of visits, and general location inferred from IP address.
- Information from cookies and similar technologies, subject to your cookie preferences.
We do not knowingly collect more than we need, and we do not sell personal information.
04How we use information
- To respond to enquiries and arrange consultations.
- To evaluate job applications and manage recruitment.
- To operate the staff portal and administer employment.
- To keep the site secure, diagnose problems and prevent abuse.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To meet legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal effects, and we do not send marketing email unless you ask us to.
05Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to make the site work, remember your preferences and understand usage. Our cookie banner lets you accept or reject non-essential categories, and you can change your choice at any time from the banner control.
- Necessary cookies keep the site functioning, including secure log-in and your consent preferences. These cannot be switched off.
- Functional cookies support optional features such as embedded content.
- Analytical cookies help us count visitors and see which pages are useful.
- Advertising cookies are used only if we run campaigns, and only with your consent.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
06When we share information
We share personal information only where it is needed, and only with:
- Service providers who host the site, deliver email, provide the applicant tracking and staff portal software, or supply the mapping and booking tools embedded here. They may use the information only to provide those services to us.
- Professional advisers such as accountants, lawyers and insurers where necessary.
- Regulators, courts or law enforcement where we are legally required to disclose, or to establish or defend legal claims.
- A successor entity if our business is sold or reorganised, subject to this policy.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
07Job applicant information
Applications submitted through our Careers page are used to assess your suitability for the role you applied for and for other openings that may fit. We retain applications so we can contact you when a suitable role opens.
Applicant information is available only to staff involved in hiring. Where a role requires it, an offer may be conditional on background screening and verification of licences or certifications, which we will explain and seek your authorisation for separately.
To have your application removed from our files, email highland.hckc@gmail.com and we will action it.
08How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, and to meet legal, tax, employment and insurance obligations. Enquiries are kept for a limited period; applicant and employment records are kept in line with applicable employment record-keeping requirements; client care records are governed by our HIPAA policies and applicable Kansas retention rules. When information is no longer needed, we delete or securely destroy it.
09How we protect information
The site is served over HTTPS. Staff portal access is restricted to authorised accounts, and we limit internal access to those who need it. We review our providers and keep software updated.
No website or transmission over the internet is completely secure. Please avoid sending sensitive health or financial information through web forms or email.
10Your choices and rights
You may ask us to:
- Confirm what personal information we hold about you and provide a copy.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete information where we no longer have a reason to keep it.
- Stop contacting you, other than where we must respond for legal or care reasons.
Contact us at highland.hckc@gmail.com or (913) 287-0333 and we will respond as promptly as we can. We may need to verify your identity first. Rights under state privacy laws vary; we will tell you which apply to your request.
Where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a request to reject non-essential cookies.
11Children’s privacy
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
12Third-party sites
Our site links to and embeds services run by others, including Google Maps and our booking page. Their privacy practices are their own. We encourage you to read their policies before providing information to them.
13Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices, technology or the law changes. The current version is always posted here with the date it was last updated. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
